This Privacy Policy explains how JumpWhere Solutions, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India ("JumpWhere", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our website, apps, and services (the "Platform"). It is designed to meet our obligations under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). By using the Platform you consent to the practices described here. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

• Account & identity data — name, email address, profile photo, and login identifiers managed through our authentication provider.
• Academic & profile data — college/institution, Roll/USN, course of study, graduation year, skills, GitHub or portfolio links, and other details you add to your profile or Skill Passport.
• Learning & assessment data — courses generated and enrolled in, progress, engagement time, quiz/assignment/project submissions, scores, mentor feedback, doubt threads, and readiness reports.
• Mock interview data — when you take an AI mock interview, we access your camera and microphone with your permission to run the session; responses and transcripts are processed to generate feedback and integrity signals.
• Payment data — order details, plan, invoices, and GST details. Card/UPI/banking credentials are collected and processed by our payment gateway partners, not stored on JumpWhere servers.
• Communications — messages you send us, buddy/pod chat messages, support requests, and application forms (e.g., mentor or campus ambassador applications).
• Technical & usage data — device/browser type, IP address, pages visited, and similar analytics data, collected via cookies and similar technologies.

• To provide the service: generate and deliver courses, track progress, evaluate assessments, run mock interviews, schedule mentor reviews, and issue certificates and readiness reports.
• To verify identity and issue verifiable documents tied to your name and Roll/USN.
• To process payments, issue invoices, handle refunds, and prevent fraud.
• To communicate with you — transactional emails (enrolment, certificates, receipts), progress nudges, and service updates. Marketing communication is optional and can be opted out of.
• To keep the Platform safe: enforce our Terms, detect misuse, and maintain the integrity of assessments and certificates.
• To improve the product using aggregated and anonymised analytics.

JumpWhere uses AI to generate course structures, notes, assessments, doubt answers, and mock-interview feedback. To do this, relevant inputs (for example, your chosen tech stack, quiz responses, or interview answers) are processed by third-party AI model providers under contractual safeguards.

• We share with AI providers only what is needed for the feature to work.
• We do not sell your personal data — to AI providers or anyone else.
• AI evaluations are indicative and, on eligible plans, are reviewed by human mentors at key checkpoints.

We share personal data only as needed to run the Platform:

• Service providers (processors) — authentication, cloud hosting and databases, file storage, AI model providers, email delivery, background-job infrastructure, and payment gateways, each bound to use data only to provide their service to us.
• Your institution — if you access JumpWhere through a college partnership, your institution may see your enrolment status, progress, and readiness outcomes for the programs it sponsors.
• Recruiters/employers — only where you opt in to make your profile or Skill Passport visible; verification pages show only the certificate data needed to confirm authenticity.
• Mentors — see the submissions, questions, and interview artefacts needed to review your work.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Platform.

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, security, remembering preferences, and understanding how the Platform is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in and core features.

• Account and learning data are retained while your account is active.
• Certificate verification records are retained long-term so employers can verify documents you have earned, even years later.
• Payment and tax records are retained as required by Indian law (typically 8 years).
• When you delete your account, personal data is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period, except what we must retain for legal, tax, or certificate-verification purposes.

• Data is encrypted in transit; access to production systems is restricted and role-based (students, teachers, and admins see only what their role permits).
• Authentication is handled by a dedicated, industry-standard identity provider; we never see or store your password.
• Payment credentials never touch our servers.
• No system is perfectly secure — if a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as required by the DPDP Act.

Under the DPDP Act and this policy, you can:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data (much of this you can edit directly in your profile).
• Delete your account and associated personal data, subject to the retention exceptions above.
• Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g., marketing emails, recruiter visibility) at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below), and if unresolved, escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity, as provided by the DPDP Act.

The Platform is intended for students aged 13 and above. For users under 18, we rely on verifiable parental or guardian consent as required by the DPDP Act. We do not knowingly use children's data for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has provided us data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will remove it.

Our infrastructure and service providers may process data on servers located outside India (for example, cloud hosting and AI providers). Wherever data is processed, we apply the protections described in this policy and transfer data only to jurisdictions and providers consistent with applicable Indian law.

We may update this policy as the Platform and the law evolve. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
